In a lifetime, very few people know their life’s Purpose.

I’m thankful to God that I realized my Purpose at an early age! That is to make a difference in the lives of young people!

Growing up in Southern Pines, I watched my mother and father (the late Pastors Keith and Laura Collins) be involved in the community. They were always “givers.” I took on my parents’ characteristics and wanted to create an opportunity to give back to the young people! God put people in my life to help me follow their example and find my Purpose.

When I was 16, someone “gave” to me—the late Coach Jeff Capel.
I asked him once how I could repay him for taking time to make a difference in my life. His response was, “Do it for someone else”.

Then I attended college at Eastern Kentucky University as my EKU family welcomed me into their home helped mold me into the person I am today.

To God be the Glory for putting the right people into my life. I asked these Families the same question, “How could I repay them?”, and they responded, “Help someone else!”

WOW! So, I decided to use basketball as my platform to reach the kids in our community. It’s such a priceless opportunity being able to encourage, empower, and show the youth that they can be whatever they want to be in life!

This year will be my 25th year hosting this camp! During that time, I’ve been able to touch the lives of over 3,000 young people! My camp has survived throughout the years due to all of the helping hands, givers, and supporters! My thanks to all who have supported these efforts and to those who will support the 2023 camp for years to come.
